Philadelphia Museum of Art

Hello folks!

Yesterday I brought home over 300 photos from our trip to Philadelphia. I defenetely can't not post all the pictures in one time, but little by little I'm gonna post photos by collections, for examples: Monet photos, panoramic photos, sculpture photos, ext. So then its gonna be easer to absorve each media or artist.

I hope you all can enjoy each photo. I tried my best to register on each photo, the Philadelphia Museum or Art moods. Feel free to use theses photos for your project, paper, or research, but remember to cite the source and to point  link to www.johabsilva.com. Thanks Fithi and Sergio, for our great trip together.

NATIONAL GALLERY, WDC

For so long time ago I haven't been in a great art environment as was this Monday. To be honest, I'm still truly impacted for the amount of history, tectonics, information, styles, and many other things that someone could get, from the amazing collection that the National Gallery in DC carries.

What has amazed was the age of each piece. I guess, the oldest one that I have seem at in the gallery was something from the 15th century, plus others from the 16th and 17 century.

I asked myself many times, how something so big, so precisely made, and on the size that many paintings was painted, how those art work did survived during so long time? This question got me  and also challenged me for review my concepts about art, as an artist. Its hard seeing Michelangelo, Raphael, Monet, and do not feel challenged.

I hope you can enjoy my photos. Please feel free to use them, BUT please give the credits of the photo plus add a link to my website.

Thanks Fithi and Sergio for the trip. I bet you guys have grown a lot too.
I look forward for Phili! ;)
